The Details
  • Results

Three to six treatments spaced four weeks apart is recommended for best results. Followed by a review. Regular treatments will help maintain results.

  • Who isn't suitable

Individuals with a low pain threshold, active cold sores or open lesions in the treatment area are not suitable for this treatment. Anyone with active papulopustular rosacea, anyone with severe acne or anyone that has used topical antiobiotics for acne in the previous two weeks or has taken Roaccutane in the past 12 months are also contraindicated.

  • Treatment preparation

It’s recommended clients cease blood thinners, anti-inflammatory medications, and omega oils for one week prior to minimise the risk of bruising. If you are prone to cold sores, using an over-the-counter prophylactic can reduce the risk of a breakout as skin needling may trigger a cold sore response. Please also advise your clinician if you have had cosmetic injectable treatments in the past two weeks prior to your appointment.

  • Expected outcomes

Tenderness, and stinging is common following a treatment (it will feel like a sunburn) although this subsides within 24 hours. Redness and sensitivity can last between two – four days. Skin may look and feel flaky for two-five days post treatment.

  • What to expect

This may be an uncomfortable treatment for some, and your skin will feel quite warm following the treatment. Kind of like a sun burn. Areas of specific concern may feel the most tender following the treatment.

  • Post treatment care

Avoid excessive exercise in the 24 hours following a treatment. Avoid active skincare products including exfoliants and vitamin A for three – five days. No physical scrubs. Avoid cosmetic injectables for one week post treatment and avoid tanning or prolonged sun exposure for the first two weeks.
